The PTA Volunteer Program is one of the best ways that parents can support the students and staff at our school.

Please review the brief descriptions of each volunteer area and indicate your preliminary interests. Your contact information will then be forwarded to the PTA board member or committee chair that is pulling together that activity and they will be in touch with you.

Dads' Club
Join fellow Dads, Grandparents, Uncles and other male role models in various events throughout the year.
Yearbook Committee
Captures memories throughout the school year by gathering photos from events, designing layouts, and managing the yearbook production process. This committee works closely with staff and families to ensure every grade and activity is represented. Spirit Wear
Coordinate the design, ordering, and sales of school spirit wear for students and families. Coordinar el diseño, el pedido y la venta de ropa de espíritu escolar para los alumnos y sus familias.

Five and Dime Student Store

Sponsorship Fundraising
Helps secure financial and in-kind donations from local businesses and community partners to support PTA programs and events throughout the school year. Members create sponsorship packages, manage donor recognition, and build lasting relationships with sponsors. Art Reflections Program
Coordinates the National PTA Reflections Art Program, encouraging students to explore the year’s theme through visual arts, photography, literature, music, dance, and film. The committee promotes the program, collects and submits entries, organizes judging, and celebrates student artists. Coordina el Programa Art Reflections de la PTA Nacional, animando a los estudiantes a explorar el tema del año a través de las artes visuales, la fotografía, la literatura, la música, la danza y el cine. Family Movie Night
Plans and hosts a movie night for Silver Lake families to enjoy together. Responsibilities include selecting the movie, organizing concessions, setting up the viewing area, and creating a fun, safe environment for all ages. Celebrates the diverse cultures within the Silver Lake community by organizing an inclusive event featuring food, music, performances, crafts, and traditions from around the world. The committee works with families and the community to highlight their heritage and promote cultural awareness. Fun Run
Plans and coordinates the annual Fun Run fundraiser, promoting physical activity and school spirit while raising money for school programs. Responsibilities include organizing logistics, creating event materials, managing donations and prizes, and cheering on students during the big day. Planifica y coordina la carrera anual para recaudar fondos, promoviendo la actividad física y el espíritu escolar a la vez que se recauda dinero para los programas escolares. Holiday Shop
Organizes the school’s Holiday Shop, where students can shop for affordable gifts for family and friends in a safe, supportive setting. The committee sets up the shop, manages inventory, helps students with their purchases, and spreads holiday cheer. Organiza la Tienda Navideña de la escuela, donde los estudiantes pueden comprar regalos asequibles para familiares y amigos en un ambiente seguro y de apoyo. Creates a festive and memorable holiday event featuring breakfast, craft activities, story time, photo opportunities with Santa, craft fair and holiday cheer. This committee handles decorations, volunteer coordination, food planning, and activities for families to enjoy. Silent Auction Committee
Plans and runs the PTA’s silent auction. Duties include collecting donated items, creating auction baskets, and promoting the auction to families and the community. Spring Fling
Leads the planning of one of the school’s biggest spring events—a fun, carnival-style celebration with games, food, music, and entertainment. The committee manages logistics, coordinates volunteers, and ensures a successful event for all ages. Works with teachers and staff to plan and run Field Day—an exciting end-of-year event filled with outdoor games, relays, and team-building activities. The committee helps with station planning, setup, volunteer coordination, and ensuring a safe and fun experience for all students. Shows love and gratitude to Silver Lake teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. The committee plans meals, gifts, and recognition events to celebrate the hard work and dedication of the school’s educators.
