We’re so excited to kick off another unforgettable Field Day—and we can’t do it without you! Whether you’ve helped out before or this is your first time, your energy, creativity, and support make all the difference. Volunteering is a great way to connect with the community, share some laughs, and help create an amazing experience for everyone involved.
What is Field Day?
Field Day is a fun-filled day where each grade rotates through a variety of outdoor activity stations, games, and challenges. Students will move through their scheduled activities with their class, giving them a chance to stay active, work together, and celebrate the end of the school year in a big way!
One of the featured stations is our “Dance Party / B&P Throw”, hosted by the PTA. During this rotation, students can enjoy:
A baseball throwing station
A pie throw station
A high-energy dance party 馃帀
At the same time, our 4th Grade team will be running concessions (always a huge hit with the kiddos!), so students can grab a treat while they’re there.
Each grade will rotate through this station at the following times:
9:00–9:30 AM 2nd Grade
9:30–10:00 AM 1st Grade
10:30–11:00 AM 5th Grade
11:00–11:30 AM 4th Grade
11:30 AM–12:00 PM Kindergarten
12:30–1:00 PM 3rd Grade
1:00–1:30 PM Pre-K
We typically recommend parents sign up to volunteer during their child’s Dance Party / B&P Throw time slot. This allows you to help out while still having the opportunity to watch your student participate in their other Field Day activities throughout the day. That said—feel free to sign up for any time that works best for you!
A few things to note:
- All volunteers need to complete a background check through GCISD: https://www.gcisd.net/o/gcisd/page/volunteer-background-check
- All activities will be located at the back entrance of SLE (the doors opposite the main doors)
- All shifts are 30 minutes long
- Baseball/Softball throw, Pie Attack, and Concession Sales occur at the same time for each grade

馃尲 ¡Bienvenidos al Día del Deporte 2026! 馃尲
Estamos muy emocionados por dar inicio a otro Día del Deporte inolvidable, ¡y no podemos hacerlo sin ti! Tanto si ya has colaborado antes como si es tu primera vez, tu energía, creatividad y apoyo marcan la diferencia. El voluntariado es una forma estupenda de conectar con la comunidad, compartir risas y ayudar a crear una experiencia increíble para todos los que participan.
¿Qué es el Field Day?
El Field Day es un día lleno de diversión en el que cada curso va rotando por diversas estaciones de actividades al aire libre, juegos y retos. Los alumnos realizarán las actividades programadas con su clase, lo que les dará la oportunidad de mantenerse activos, trabajar juntos y celebrar el final del curso a lo grande.
Una de las estaciones destacadas es nuestra «Fiesta de baile / Lanzamiento de B&P», organizada por la PTA. Durante esta rotación, los alumnos podrán disfrutar de:
Una estación de lanzamiento de pelotas de béisbol
Una estación de lanzamiento de tartas
Una fiesta de baile llena de energía 馃帀
Al mismo tiempo, nuestro equipo de 4.º curso se encargará de los puestos de comida (¡siempre un gran éxito entre los peques!), para que los alumnos puedan llevarse un capricho mientras están allí.
Cada curso pasará por esta estación en los siguientes horarios:
9:00–9:30 a. m. 2.º curso
9:30–10:00 a. m. 1.º curso
10:30–11:00 a. m. 5.º curso
11:00–11:30 a. m. 4.º curso
11:30 a. m.–12:00 p. m. Infantil
12:30–1:00 p. m. 3.º grado
1:00–1:30 p. m. Preescolar
Normalmente recomendamos a los padres que se apunten como voluntarios durante el horario de la Fiesta de baile / Lanzamiento de B&P de su hijo. Esto te permite echar una mano sin dejar de tener la oportunidad de ver a tu hijo participar en el resto de actividades del Día del Deporte a lo largo del día. Dicho esto, ¡no dudes en apuntarte a la hora que mejor te venga!
Algunas cosas a tener en cuenta:
- Todos los voluntarios deben pasar una verificación de antecedentes a través del GCISD: https://www.gcisd.net/o/gcisd/page/volunteer-background-check
- Todas las actividades tendrán lugar en la entrada trasera de SLE (las puertas opuestas a las principales)
- Todos los turnos duran 30 minutos
- El lanzamiento de béisbol/sóftbol, el «Pie Attack» y la venta de comida y bebida se realizan a la misma hora para cada curso
